On August 21st, 2017 the MUSC Health Stadium will host a viewing party for the total solar eclipse. Total solar eclipses are a rare event; this year's will be the first coast-to-coast eclipse since 1918, and the first to cross a large portion of the US since 1979.

The total eclipse is expected around 2:30 pm, but the day will be packed with fun. Gates will open at 11 am, and the event will include astronomy-related activities and a science-based kid zone. As this is a Charleston event, you can count on fabulous local food, drinks, and entertainment. Admission is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and under, military personnel, and first responders. Every ticket includes solar eclipse glasses too. More details will be released as the date approaches; to keep up with the latest details follow: MUSC Health Stadium on Facebook
